First Zero Day

Saturday, September 8, turned out to be a zero day--the first of the 5 Lyle  has in his plan.  The weather report was now talking about possible tornados so he decided to stay another day in Delaware Water Gap.  He moved from the hotel to the church and there were 5 other hikers spending the night.  Another opportunity to learn more details about the trail.  They all went out for pizza together.  There were two young men that had come from Maine and are planning to through hike to Georgia.  They were surprised to hear that they will probably run into snow later in the fall.  They also talked about how difficult Maine was--in fact one of the hikers is from Maine and he even found it to be very difficult.  Lyle was encouraged to hear that they had as much trouble as he had.  We are so very glad he is done with that part of the trail!  The car is parked in the AT lot so he is all set to get started if the weather improves.

Saturday evening - There was a bad storm that blew through Delaware Water Gap but no tornados.  It should be good weather Sunday to get started.
